Hey guys! This is my first post on this blog where I will be sharing my traveling experiences. As I'm creating this blog, I'm getting pretty nostalgic about my summer travels, my first time abroad. I absolutely fell in love; my family and I took a 2 week Disney cruise around the Mediterranean. We started the trip with a couple days in Barcelona and hit a bunch of stops including Venice, Rome, Croatia, and Villefranche.
This was taken during our first day in Barcelona at the La Boqueria market and along the street by our hotel. We spent hours just walking through the hundreds of brightly colored fruit and candy stands. I had to look the other way when we walk past the butcher stands (I'm a squeamish vegetarian) but it was a ton of fun.
The next day, we got on the cruise and our first stop was Villefranche, where we hit yet another open air market (this is definitely a trend when traveling with my family) and stopped at all the obligatory touristy spots, including the Prince of Monaco's palace.

The next couple of days were filled with more super touristy yet super fun experiences. We visited Portofino of Santa Margarita where we hung out on the beach and tried four different varieties of focaccia in two hours (definitely a must have when going to the Cinque Terre!) We were totally unaware that a lot of Italy closes down mid afternoon for riposo, so we were left wandering aimlessly for a couple of hours waiting for all the businesses to reopen. Definitely something to remember for next time.
Next stop was Rome, where we saw everything from the catacombs to the Pantheon to the Trevi fountain to the Vatican in under 7 hours. Anyone who was been to Italy in the summer knows that the temperature isn't exactly pleasantly chilly. By this point though, all the locals were telling us about the crazy heat wave that we were fortunate enough to be traveling in.
So, that's me and my brother Greg in said heat wave trying not to pass out by the forums, and a shot of the Trevi Fountain, where we of course threw a coin over our shoulder and made 3 wishes.
Next, We spent two days wandering about Venice with no concrete direction, but ended up stumbling on some of the coolest shops and most delicious restaurants of our whole trip once we got out of the huge crowds of tourists in St. Mark's square. Would definitely love to go back and spend some more time lost in less touristy parts of the city.

Can't wait to go back to some of these places this summer, spend some more time exploring, and share my experiences with you guys!
